What I’m Wearing: A Chic Transition

If you know me, then you know I hate cold weather. These warm days in spring are environmentally bad but perfect for Shenika. As my excitement grows once spring draws closer, I am even more excited to bring out my spring clothes that were packed away in storage. Spring means lighter jackets, neck ties instead of wool scarves, and giving your ankles a bit of fresh air in a cute pair of cropped pants and flats.

This look is still cold weather appropriate with hints of the soon-to-be warmer weather. It was 55 degrees on this day, I’ll consider this on the warmer side. Pairing a bright dress with a dark bottom balances the outfit and isn’t too spring for the end of winter.

The detailing of the dress is BEAUTIFUL. I absolutely hate tight clothes and prefer loose fitting articles of clothes that don’t highlight my body in any way I don’t want it to. So when I choose dresses I primarily go for a box fit or shift dress. The mock neck covers my chest and comes up to my neck, bringing that warm style while not being a winter dress. The sleeves are my favorite part of this dress, reminding me of Spanish dancers. As you can see, I had a ton of fun shooting in this dress. I felt amazing.

Even my niece felt great watching me take pictures (look out for some future posts featuring this stylish 3 year old)! The fit of this dress allowed me to move freely and these black heels are my most comfortable heels. I was literally dancing in the street guys. Cute, comfy clothes and warm weather will do that to you.

As you go into this week stay positive, work hard, and be FABULOUS! Having a positive outlook on life will definitely change your situation, no matter the circumstances.

Outfit Details:

Red Dress: Zara (still available)

Black Heels: Express (scored these on sale for $20.00)

Black Bag: Borrowed from my mom, but from Zara

Black Tights: Honestly, they are 99 cents in Brooklyn; no reason to spend any more than that

Can’t wait to see all of your chic transitions into spring!

xoxo,

Fashenika
